Panorama from Galata Tower – Istanbul, Turkey

The top of the Galata Tower has a very narrow gangway around its edge. When I first stepped out, I did feel a little nervous holding on to the railing as it appeared unstable. You can walk all the way around and take a 360 panorama, which I did do. I also choose two of what I judged as the best views and did more carefully framed panorama.

This view is looking towards the north of Istanbul, at the Levent area where the main business area is. Off on the horizon are the business skyscrapers.

Looking to the east is the Asian side. Cruise ships moor on the European side to let their passengers disembark and experience a slice of Istanbul. The second cruise ship from the right is the Queen Elizabeth. The ferries traverse the Bosphorus carrying passengers and cars across the East, West and South sides.
